8/25/2023 0 Comments Qlab fade in still imageIf we want to feed the video to black we will manually type in 0%.Ĭongratulations! You now have faded a video cue. If we want the video to end up at 100% we will leave it as is. We simply need to check the checkbox next to opacity and change the percentage we want to transition to. This option can be found under the geometry tab. This is because we need to tell QLab what property we want to fade on the video queue. If we were to try to play the fade queue now we would not see the video cue fade at all. You can either pick from some pre-defined curves or make your own. In here you were able to change the duration of the fade as well as the fade shape. First let's take a look at the curve shape section. To do this we need to make modifications in two sections the curved shapes section and the geometry section. Now that we have the fade cue targeting the video cue we can start to play around with the fade itself. This will then show the cue name next to it if the target association was successful. Under target we type in the cue number of the video we want to fade. To do this we select the fade cue and head over to the basics tab. This can be done by either clicking on the video button or dragging a video/image clip into the cue stack.Īfter the video cue has been added to the stack we need to add a fade cue below the video cue we just added.Īfter adding the fade cue we need to tell QLab what cue we want to fade. The first thing we need to do is add a video cue to the cue stack. A Fade cue can be used to adjust the opacity, translation, scale, rotation, video effect parameters, volume levels, and audio effect parameters of a targeted Video, Camera, or Titles cue. At first when I started using QLab I was very confused on how to fade cues which is why I wanted to make this article to make it easier for you. However, it does have one major downfall which is how to fade cues. It has a straightforward user interface and a rich feature set. Screenshot here: – look in the bottom left just below "Absolute Fade.QLab is a great piece of software for playing back simple video cues. Sidenote: why are you auto-following from a fade cue into a stop cue? Why not just click the "Stop Target When Done" option on the fade cue? (You can find it on the "Audio Levels" tab of the fade cue). Based on your setup, I can't see a reason it shouldn't work. I hope that makes sense.īut if you're really waiting the full 18 minutes and it's still not auto-following. Ok, in that image, I've jumped to the end of "Rock of Ages.m4a" by clicking just above and beside the X in the circle on the right.not touching the squiggly timeline part at the bottom of the screen. I'm going to include a screenshot just to be clear about what I mean. However, if you have the "Lists, Carts, and Active Cues" sidebar showing, you can click near the end of the cue on that part of the interface and it won't mess with your post-wait. Here's why I ask: if you start playing a cue, then click on the "Time & Loops" tab, and then click near the end of the visual timeline, it will (weirdly) cancel the post-wait, and that means your auto-follow will not work. How are you jumping to the end of the cue to test if it's working?
